Bowen Island is all about getting back to basics
and enjoying the good things in life whilst recharging your batteries. You can do this the easy way or the hard way on
Bowen's many trails thorough beautiful woodland.
Mount Gardner has the island's most challenging hiking trail but well worth
the effort is the breathtaking view at the top. Not for the faint hearted!
Kilarny Lake has a lovely trail round it with many access points, picnic areas and
facilities nearby if you get caught short! Very popular with joggers, dog-walkers and Sunday afternoon ramblers, this lake
gives wonderful view points and photo opportunities. If you have babies, it can be done with a proper 'off-road' stroller
but there are some very bumpy, root-ridden areas. Good work out though.
Kayaking is very popular here and Bowen Island has it's own club down in Snug
Cove. This is a great way to see the island and visit some of the gorgeous little beaches only accessible by sea.
All a bit too strenuous for you? Bowen Island has many pretty beaches with beautiful
views across the sea towards the mountains or Vancouver Island.
